Makakilo Baptist Church Preschool is an accrediated Christian day-school ministry of Makakilo Baptist Church.

 

At Makakilo Baptist Church Preschool, the primary concern is for the welfare of the child and to provide learning experiences with an emphasis on Christian values and teachings which will encourage the child’s growth and development in several areas:

 

Dealing with circumstances and others in positive, helpful, and constructive ways.  (SOCIAL and EMOTIONAL)

 

Discovering satisfaction in accomplishing meaningful tasks and learning new skills.  (INTELLECTUAL)

 

Understanding God's encompassing love.  (SPIRITUAL)

 

Understanding nature and caring for the world we live in.  (PHYSICAL)


Enrollment 
  •    The maximum number of children that can be enrolled in Makakilo Baptist Church Preschool is seventy-five (75).

Ratio

  •     The minimum adult-child ratio shall be one (1) adult per twelve (12) children for three-year olds; and one (1) adult per thirteen (13) children for four-year olds. During transitions, bathroom, playground, snack and lunch time the ratio is 1:8 for three-year olds and 1:10 for four-year olds.  

     

    Makakilo Baptist Church Preschool generally maintains a better adult-child ratio than the minimum state requirement due to our accrediation.  

     

Sessions

  • One Year-round Session
  • Summer months / early start:  June-July (as available)

  •  

    The first and last days of the school's session(s) will be as stated on the school calendar and Parent Agreement Contract

Three Daily Program       

  •     1/2-Day:  6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.(*$475/mo)

  •     3/4-Day:  6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (*$575/mo)

  •     Full-Day:  6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (*$625/mo)

                   * Tuition rates effective AUGUST 2011

 

Hours

  • Mondays-Fridays:  6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

  • Children are not allowed on the premises until 6:30 am

  • Classes begin at 7:45 a.m. daily   

  • Overtime fees will be assessed to accounts for late pick-ups.

  •  Preschool Office Hours are 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

School Organization

  • Makakilo Baptist Church Preschool is sponsored by Makakilo Baptist Church and is a ministry of the church supported by tuition, fees, and contributions.

  • Makakilo Baptist Church Preschool was established in 1975.

  • The preschool license is renewed annually by the Department of Human Services (DHS) of the State of Hawaii and is nationally accrediated by NECPA.

  • The Makakilo Baptist Church Weekday Early Education Preschool Ministry Team hires the staff and forms the school's policies.

  • Parents of a registered child will be informed of any change in school policy or program by a written notice within thirty days of the effective date of the change.
